What's Going On With Me This Week...

Today I’m heading to Springfield, Missouri to finish up a Master’s degree at Missouri State University.  That might sound strange to some of you reading.  Let me explain.  If you listened to the first Baldworshipleader.com podcast then you might remember that before I was in full-time ministry I made my living as a web developer at an aerospace company in here in Florida.  Back then I hadn’t thought much about full-time ministry as a worship leader – I was happy leading worship on a volunteer/part-time basis at a church just north of Clearwater.  So in 2002 I started a degree program in Computer Information Systems at MSU.  My goal was to achieve the master’s degree and work towards a career as an I.T. director.  It’s funny, I remember writing up a 7 year plan to achieve that goal.  Obviously, I’m on a much different road now.

If interested, you may read the rest of the post at at http://baldworshipleader.com/?p=130

God Bless!

Dreaming of another podcast...

2006-06-30 149So I’m sitting here wondering when I’ll be able to get to my next podcast. Everytime I walk by the door to my studio it’s like an embarrassing reminder that it’s been a month since episode 15. Truth be told, Lost Dog Studio (my converted garage) is in a state of complete chaos. It’s been that way since the church that I worked for leased some office space and I moved my working office from home (the studio) to the church office. Soon I’ll have to tackle that mess but I hope to have another podcast out soon.

Another little roadblock has been the fact that we recently returned from a trip to Iowa to see family. It was a good time to be away from things and relax but entirely WAY too much driving – 48 hours total, there and back. Imagine doing this with a 7 year old, and 5 year old, and a 95 pound dog. Just kidding, we left the dog at home with friends. Even so it was a long way to drive. It’s funny, you always joke about that “when will were get there” thing that kids say but it’s so true. My 5 year old daughter asked that question literally 5 minutes after we left and then kept asking every 10 minutes until we crossed the border of Illinois and she fell asleep.

By the way, the picture you see above is me – typing this post. I’m chillin’ on some new patio furniture that my lovely wife just got for us. Pretty cozy, eh? Life in Florida is great! I hope to have a podcast out soon. Talk to you later!

The Next Podcast - "Excellence As An Idol"

I started working on the next podcast tonight.  I actually started recording and then realized that I didn’t really have my thoughts organized well enough so I stopped and decided to write down some of the topics I want to cover.  If all goes well I’ll record and post the finished podcast after band practice tomorrow.  Oh yeah, this podcast will feature a contest to win a $10 gift certificate.  Make sure to listen to the upcoming show to find out how to win!

Lastly, I’m in the process of working on a redesign of the Baldworshipleader.com design.  Not so much the structure and all that but the colors and graphics.  My friend Matt has a design company called Image Designs (http://www.imagedesigns.com/) and is working on a new look for the site.  I’m pretty stoked about having an “artistic edge” to bwl.  Just something a little different.  Anyone that knows me knows that I’m always interested changes - I thrive on them.  So…I’m looking forward to that.  Stay tuned.

BWL Episode 11 - What's In Your Gig Bag?

I put this podcast together fairly quickly because I had some things on my mind plus a bunch of people sent in some great questions so I picked three to answer during the podcast. Also a new segment called, “What’s In Your Gig Bag?” The 20 most essential things to have with you each time you lead worship.
